The Fringe has been dominating our social media posts for the past week but it is time to look at what other Burning Eye poets have been up to.
Molly Case is off to read with the prestigious The Alpine Fellowship. As an Artist in Residence, the poet who rose to fame with her poem ‘Nursing the Nation’ joins the likes of John Burnside and Ian McEwan for three days in Venice where artists of all trades will come together to explore self expression in the age of instant communication and radical subjectivity.
Molly’s début poetry collection ‘Underneath the Roses Where I Remembered Everything’ will be released with Burning Eye Books in the Autumn.
Jess Green also releases her collection with us in the Autumn. She has taken her show Burning Books to the Free Fringe in Edinburgh (Broadway Baby review here) and will be touring it around the UK from September to November to promote the book under the same title. Check her website gig listings to catch a show near you!
Into the final week of the Edinburgh Fringe and the shows are coming to their big finale, The Banshee Labyrinth has hosted numerous Burning Eye poets like Harry Baker, Dan Simpson, Sophia Walker, Rob Auton and Monkey Poet – they have all a few days of shows remaining, if you’re in Edinburgh be sure to catch them! If you like what you hear, don’t forget to check out their collections on our online store.
Also this week at the Fringe, Burning Eye founder Clive Birnie is judging the BBC Fringe Slam! 8.15pm at the BBC Bubble today and tomorrow are the remaining Heats before the Grand Final on at 8pm on 29th August. Watch here:
