There are a lot of nights dedicated to poetry across the country. Some are open mic, casual and sharing, some have an exclusive line up of well mastered wordsmiths and some are slams, slams that become hugely popular as if overnight. Say Owt Slam in York is one of those poetry nights with a slam element and a top class headliner to inspire and entertain. From it’s origins in early 2015, the slam has become the most anticpiated poetry night in York, drawing sold out crowds and eager participants. It was also shortlisted for the Sabotage Award from Best Regular Spoken Word Night.  We caught up with its founders Henry Raby and Stu Freestone in an audio interview:
