Hello February and hello readers! The Burning Eye HQ is stirring, breaking out of it’s hibernation period and is preparing for a year packed with poetry and more books than ever before. As it’s the first of the month, we can officially say that our first 2017 is out next month!
In the meantime we’re preparing for Verve Poetry Festival up in Birmingham 16th – 19th. Burning Eye are there on the Sunday 19th where Clive Birnie will be facilitating a workshop on technology and poetry – there are still spaces left, book now and don’t forget to charge your smart phone for the occasion. Get more info on the workshop and booking here. We’ll also be running a showcase, featuring some of our poets from 2016 and 2015. More details.
And in case you missed it, check out the latest episode of #CarpoolPoetry with the insatiable Paula Varjack:
And there’s a new episode of the Burning Eye podcast. #5 goes off in a slightly different direction where Jenn is joined at home by Vanessa Kisuule and Hannah Teasdale for a general discussion about poetry. They cover everything from bad programming, bad poetry advice to merchandise and big pants.
Finally, and this is why you’re reading perhaps, we’re happy to announce that submissions for 2018 poetry list are now open to all. We are currently using a third party site to help us manage the volume of submissions we receive so please follow the link and read our policy and submission guidelines before sending us anything.
