It’s that time of year again! People are dieting, running, jogging, power walking…. Some are defiantly still eating their Christmas chocolate on the sofa (me) and everyone is trying to ignore the fact that we are now in January.
If you are anything like me though, you quite like January. I like how much colder it gets, the frost on rooftops and the colours of the low vaporous sky. I like the idea of goals, or resolutions, but tend to stay away from big commitments unless the opportunity comes knocking.
Knock, knock. Did you hear that? I think that’s opportunity now, coming to encourage you reading this to submit to our open submissions call! Yes you heard the knocking, you know it’s for you. What do you want to do?
Our open submissions call is open to everyone from 1st January to 1st March – we are looking for full collections (at least 50 pages of poetry). All of our instructions on submitting and our policies, which are really important so please read, are available under the link to Submittable below. Please note that there is a £5.00 charge to submit, which goes to the Za Foundation, who help communities in South Africa. This charge is to put off blanket submitters more than anything. If you are struggling to pay the fee, please get in touch.
Final decisions will be made before 31st May and I wish you the very best of luck!
