We are absolutely delighted to see our poets out on live stages again, in front of a physical audience to reconnect and share the triumphs with. Casey Bailey’s Please Do Not Touch was released in June this year, and he is finally able to celebrate in style with a launch at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 11th September!
Walk around any stately home, museum or National Trust property and you are likely to see the words please do not touch more than a few times. The irony is in most cases the sign is telling you not to touch something that was stolen from another land, something that should have never been touched in the first place.
In his poetry collection Please Do Not Touch, Casey Bailey asks questions about this hypocrisy and how the implications of our past can be felt today.
This event is a celebration of the books release, where Bailey will share poetry from the book, and discuss the process of writing it.
Bailey will be joined on the night by host, Amerah Saleh and Birmingham writing legend Polarbear.
